PlanetMusic isn’t only for music. It also has a full Markdown blog editor, so you can write down your translation notes, syncing strategies, or just personal thoughts.
1. The Creator Studio
Go to the Blog tab and click the + button to open the Creator Studio. You can draft articles here in standard Markdown, and headers, lists, and bold text render as you type.
- Title, Category & Tags: Give your post a title, and choose whatever category and tags you like.
- Markdown: Standard formatting works, like
**bold**,_italics_, or blockquotes with>. - Live Preview: The right side of the screen updates in real time as you type.
PRO TIP: The toolbar buttons insert Markdown syntax for you, so you don’t have to type it out.
2. The workspaces
PlanetMusic is built from a set of workspaces:
- Lyrics Editor: Raw text editing and metadata entry.
- Translation Workspace: Phonetic transliterations and translations.
- Sync Workspace: Mapping timestamps to audio.
- Image Manager: Assigning HD images to specific artists across your Vault.
Save your work before you close a workspace. The app usually warns you if you have unsaved changes, but hitting that save button is still a good habit.
Your drafts stay in your browser
The Creator Studio writes custom articles to this browser’s local storage. Use the export controls to download an article or a backup of all custom posts before clearing browser data; the developer guides in the public catalogue are separate from your personal posts. Imported JSON merges posts by ID, so use stable unique IDs when moving or maintaining a collection.
Markdown is previewed as you write, but the preview is not a substitute for saving. The translation and sync workspaces have their own save or apply steps, while the Image Manager saves its artist profile changes from the song panel. Check the relevant workspace’s controls before leaving if you want its draft to persist.
