Lyrics don’t have to feel like a block of text on a screen. I built Group Chat View to make synced lyrics feel more like a conversation between the artists.
1. Switching to Group Chat View
Open a song with synced lyrics and find Lyrics View Modes in the song panel. Select Group Chat, alongside Live, Focused, and Plain Text.
Each lyric appears as a message bubble, arranged into a conversation as the song plays. The active line gets a highlight, and you can click any lyric bubble to jump to that point in the track.
2. Follow who’s singing
When the lyrics have singer information, each artist gets their own color and position in the chat. Artist avatars show who’s currently active, while join and leave notices mark when they enter or exit the conversation.
For split lyrics and ad-libs, each timed part can appear as its own message, so background vocals have room in the conversation too.
3. A conversation that follows the music
The chat follows the song’s timing. You’ll see the lyric history build as the track plays, and artists can appear as typing shortly before their next line. The message timestamps follow playback as well.
TIP: Group Chat View works best with synced lyrics and singer assignments. Use the Sync Workspace to add timing, then check the singer tags in the lyrics so each message can be attributed to the right artist.
What makes the chat line up
Group Chat uses the song’s available sync data to decide which lyric messages belong in the conversation as playback advances. Accurate start and end times make the history and active message feel natural; split ad-libs can appear as separate timed messages when they have their own timing. Missing or untimed lyrics cannot follow the music reliably.
Use the view-mode controls in the song panel to switch between Live, Focused, Group Chat, and Plain Text. Clicking a timed message seeks to that point in the song. Artist assignments improve the conversation’s color and presence cues, but timing and singer attribution are separate pieces of lyric data, so check both in the editor.
