PlanetMusic is meant to look good on a huge desktop monitor and on a small phone screen. You can tune almost every part of how it looks in the Settings Tab.
1. Typography controls
The typography settings cover everything from the main lyrics down to the phonetic transliterations. Between the font sizes and the background opacity, you control how legible everything is.
- Live Font Size: Scales the main text in the scrolling view.
- Floating Adlib Size: Sets how large the background vocals appear when they orbit the main text in Focused View.
- Translation Spacing: Sliders that push the English translation higher above the text and the Romaji pronunciation lower below it, so the lines have room to breathe.
2. Layout proportions
You can change the width of the song cards on the home screen, the padding inside them, and whether their corners are sharp or rounded.
If you’d like the lyrics to take up more of the screen than the album art, adjust the Modal Split Ratio slider.
3. Ambient View
If you just want music playing on a second monitor, go to Settings and click Enter Ambient View. It hides the whole track grid and the search bar, leaving only floating chat-bubble lyrics that rise from the bottom of the screen while the music plays.
Tune for the view you use
Settings affect different parts of the interface: typography controls change lyric and singer-label scale, spacing controls help separate translation and pronunciation lines, and the layout controls change the Vault grid and song modal proportions. Adjust one control at a time and reopen a song to judge the result at your current window size.
If text is hard to read, increase the main lyric size or line gap before changing the overall modal split. If the layout feels busy or animation is distracting, Disable Animations reduces motion across supported views. Ambient View is a separate presentation mode; it hides the dashboard but does not remove your saved songs or stop the player.
